College Admissions works two ways — not only do you want to develop a list of schools that fit your needs but colleges are also looking for the value-added that students will bring to their campus.

So how do you convince a college admissions officer that you are a great candidate for their incoming class?

You need to tell YOUR story in a reflective, consistent and insightful way.

Below is information on commonly requested services. But I will customize my services to your individual situation to include either a comprehensive college admissions services, an abbreviated college admissions plan, or only essay brainstorming or college affordability.

College Admission Consulting Services

Until our son met with Ann during the summer of his junior year, he was very unsure about attending college due to frustration with his grades. No matter how much effort he put into schoolwork, his grades were getting progressively worse. Ann, with her expertise and dedication, was able to identify the root of the problem: our son was suffering from ADD, which no one else had recognized. With this awareness, Ann proceeded to identify a number of colleges that best suited our son’s interests and personality. He is now enrolled at a prestigious university (on a scholarship!) and is equipped to make his college career a success. My wife and I highly recommend Ann for her knowledge, dedication and interest in helping students find an appropriate college.

Affordability Counseling

college-admissions-packagesPart of researching each college is also understanding its cost.

Affordability comparisons can be incorporated into the college search process or this can be done as a separate service. It is important to submit the FAFSA and any other requested financial documents because the stated price of tuition is often not the actual tuition amount.

With each student, I like to look at the costs of a broad spectrum of colleges since some private colleges can be less expensive than public universities.

Essay Brainstorming

College Essay PrepFor students who only want help with their application essays, the process starts with self reflection and then focuses on clarifying your voice to present the “real you.”

I will help you brainstorm, outline and edit your essays but you need to take responsibility for the content.
